With school, social life, sports & just the nature of seasons & cycles our kids need time to relax & rejuvenate. At kid’s yoga we like to teach children different tools to find rest, relax their body & quiet their mind.

We also love how much a yoga class can encourage play! To be honest our classes are always meeting kids where they’re at.

Sometimes it means being super silly in fun poses, sometimes it means lights out and a relaxation story to help them rest.

It’s beautiful to witness kids learning how to tune into their needs through yoga, and then be able to express them in a safe space where someone is really listening.

Our society tends to lack places for kids to simply be.

 

We also feel it’s more important than ever to give kids a space to simply be, and to learn stress resilience from a young age. At Our Yoga we give them the space to simply be. They can shine, feel freedom & self-express, and have space to just be, be silly, tired, upset or full of life.

It’s no wonder we have a hard time understanding their needs sometimes. All the things kids have going on wreck havoc on their ability to focus & hone in on what’s really going on. So time on the mat, propped on bolsters, blocks & with a blanket gives kids time to go inward & get a sense of being back in their body. At yoga, kids can learn to listen from within.

What does a family yoga class look like?

Family yoga looks different each time. We like to do yoga in a big circle so the kids can see each other & it feels like a group. Parents & kids can be on a mat together or separate. There is less instruction on how to get into the poses like in an adult class, which allows your child time to explore being in their body & making shapes!

Do i need to sign up + pay for everyone to go?

Yes. Each adult + child should register for class before coming or once on site. This excludes non-mobile babies attending All Levels Yoga or Baby Yoga classes. If it is your first OR your child’s first time coming to the studio try our Intro Family Membership to get unlimited yoga for just $85!

What should my child expect at kid yoga?

They should expect time to practice moving, holding poses, breathing as well as time to sit still & focus. We know that kids in Bozeman have lots of time to be outside running around or doing sports, so we like to include lots of time for rest & focus during our Kid’s yoga classes.
